North - Western Sumatra sent shock waves to most countries in the Indian
Ocean region. Luckily, this did not create a Tsunami, which would have
another devastating effect.
Natural disaster, Tsunami strikes on a fine
Sunday morning.
Dec 26th 2004 - Phuket. A beautiful sunny Sunday
morning, just like any morning, waves after waves of Tsunami hit beaches
along the West Coast of Thailand and most of the countries in the Indian
Ocean rim. The Tsunami waves followed after a 9.0
Richter
scale earthquake, with its epicenter off
North-Western Sumatra. The affected areas were some well known
beaches on Phuket island, Pee Pee islands in Krabi province, and the most
severely hit in Khao Lak and Takuapa areas on Phang Nga province, Ranong,
Trang and Satun provinces sustained lesser damages. Geneza Pharmaceuticals Buy GP Turan from RxHeads.com
Local volunteers as well as some of the
local expats were on hand to help the disaster victims in their immediate
affected areas. The spirit and minds of these volunteers and rescue workers
from the different local associations were the main backbone of the
workforce in the immediate disaster aftermath. While in the meantime, news of the disaster had reached the
general Thai population. for free russian brides elena
Phuket Style considers the front line and
immediate responses of these local volunteers, donors and even local radio
stations, in their respective immediate
affected areas as the main core of assistances to the disaster victims, by
providing food, water, shelter, money, transportations as well as first aid
assistance before the later waves of aids/help starts pouring in to the
affected areas. Cheers to all volunteers and donors involved! Environmentally friendly leather cleaning firm

Help and aids in the post disaster period
of the Tsunami, has been steady with no lacking in both donors and
volunteers. So much so that there is actually an over contribution in some
items, most noticeably clothing.
One contribution that has been the talk is
the "Dome" during this post Tsunami crisis situation, with many homes,
houses and buildings destroyed, the "Dome" should be the answer. With
contributions and donations, this "Dome" project was able to take off.
Below is the first of such "Dome"
donated for use to the temple/school in Kamala beach, Phuket :-
